Update on the situation in the DRC – 12 July 2012
In recent days there have been further reports of instability near Virunga National Park in the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This does not affect travel to the gorilla parks of Southern Uganda and Rwanda (Bwindi, Mgahinga and Parc National des Volcans) where travel is proceeding normally. There is no reason for guests not to proceed with their safaris as planned. The gorillas parks are stable and gorilla tracking continues normally. The governments of Uganda and Rwanda have reinforced security in the area.
Volcanoes Safaris is in close contact with the authorities and is monitoring the situation. We will inform guests/agents of any developments.
