Q: How long have you been working for Volcanoes Safaris?
A: I have been working for Volcanoes for about five years now. I have spent most of my time here in Bwindi.
Q: What is your favourite thing about working in Bwindi?
I love working for Volcanoes Safaris and taking care of our guests. I also love nature, so waking up listening to the birds singing, the frogs croaking after it has rained, and the chimpanzees in the forest is magical. I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Q: Have you seen the gorillas?
A: Of course! The gorillas often sneak into the lodge – they love eating the passion fruits we have growing in the garden. They also love eating bamboo shoots and we have plenty of bamboo at the lodge. It is wonderful to see them at Bwindi Lodge and guests get extremely excited. But they do leave such a mess!
Q: So are you an animal lover?
A: I do love animals, yes. But I would have to say that I am much more interested in flowers and plants. The forest has some really amazing species and you are always finding new plants. Sadly though, my favourite flowers are roses, and they cant be found in the forest here!
Q: What do you find most interesting about your job?
A: I love meeting new people from all over the world. I get to hear some interesting stories about countries that I can only ever dream of visiting, which I really love. I also love being able to share everything I know about the forest and Uganda. I feel honoured to work for Volcanoes safaris.
