Baby Boom in Uganda National Parks

There is a baby boom among gorillas in Uganda national parks. Five babies have been born in just six weeks and two more births were recorded recently. This brings the total of newborns to eight this year compared to the three that were born last year.

Ndinkahe from the Mucunguzi gorilla group in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park welcomed a newborn. She is 16 years and joined the group from a wild gorilla family. The group now has 12 members.

Nshuti from the Nyakagezi group in Mgahinga National Park also gave birth to a baby gorilla on September, 2nd 2020. Like her name, Nshuti is a friendly female. The group”s number has increased to 9 members.

We are extremely excited about the growth in numbers of mountain gorillas!
