Gilbert was born and raised in Katooma Village, Kabale District, Uganda. He graduated from Uganda Technical College Kitchwamba holding a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

He joined Volcanoes Safaris in 2023 working at Kyambura Gorge Lodge before taking up his current role as a Construction Supervisor at Kibale Lodge. 

Outside work, Gilbert loves playing football and volleyball.
