Shallon was born and raised in Kisoro District, Uganda. She began her journey with Volcanoes Safaris through the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust Youth Training Programme at Mount Gahinga Lodge, and is now a naturalist and birder at Bwindi Lodge.
She can identify more than 500 bird species. Her favourites are the Ross's Turaco, Rwenzori Batis, and Northern Double-collared Sunbird.
