Athens was born and raised in Omumasaka village, a few kilometers from Kyambura gorge Lodge. She acquired a certificate in plumbing at Kyambura Technical Institute. In 2025, Athens joined the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust as a trainee in bird spotting and identification, and wildlife guiding programme.

Athens is currently working as a Field Researcher for the Kyambura Chimpanzee Monitoring Project at Kyambura Gorge Lodge.

Outside work, she enjoys playing football, photography and music.
