Re-imagining Kyambura Gorge Lodge, Uganda
Kyambura Gorge Lodge has been fully refurbished and upgraded during 2018 with entirely remodelled public areas and gardens.
Four deluxe bandas have been launched in June in 2019, each with their own private sitting room and terrace.
The swimming pool has been redesigned and upgraded.
A new spa, with two treatment rooms, opened in July 2019.
Launch of the Kyambura Gorge Eco-tourism Project
In February 2019, the Kyambura Gorge Eco-tourism project was launched, a series of community and conservation activities developed since 2009 to safeguard the Kyambura Gorge ecosystem.
New walking safaris have been created around the lodge to experience the dramatic landscapes of Kyambura gorge and the Queen Elizabeth savannah and visit a reclaimed wetland.
A new crossing point will connect the lodge to the Community and Conservation Centre and buffer zone, an area created to protect the fragile ecosystem from encroachment. Guests contribute to this long-term conservation project by planting a seedling. |

Chimp tracking
A short private walk will connect the lodge directly to the Kyambura Gorge to track the lost chimps; a family of 27 chimpanzees who live in a magical sunken forest with a unique eco-system, along with many species of primates and birds, leopards, hippos, and elephants. |

A diverse wildlife experience
Flamingos can be seen in certain seasons in a crater lake in the magnificent Kyambura Reserve.
The lodge is the ideal location for seeing the amazing game and joining a lion tracking experience in Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Africa’s most beautiful and varied parks, centred around the waterway of the Kazinga Channel where animals come to bathe. The park has six hundred bird species, the highest in an African park. |
