Joseph Ziwa was born and raised in Wakiso District in central Uganda. He has been a guide for over 20 years, leading guests through Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. 

Joseph speaks a number languages, including English, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, and his mother tongue, Luganda. 

His favorite places to take guests include Kibale National to trek chimpanzees, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for gorilla trekking. His favourite animal is the elephant, and his preferred lodge is Bwindi Lodge because its proximity to a gorilla trekking sanctuary.
